New Years came, and New Years went, ....I ate too much!
Now that all of these holidays are finished, for a while, maybe I can get back to a more sensible diet (with less candy).
Our "messy" season is starting. The last of January through the first week of March is normally not the most pleasant of weather here in the South Western part of Kentucky. Our largest snow fall is normally in February or, sometimes, the first week of March. We don't get a lot of snow as a rule, but do get 18" to 20" on a rare occasion.
Then there's the occasional Ice Storm, where everything gets covered with a thick layer of clear ice.
This breaks down trees and power lines and can cause many days of 'no power'.

That's why I have a large generator. If needed, I can provide my own power to keep the house alive........ including the gas furnace and the important things, like TV and computer. We have had the need of if a few times.
Spring storms are another story all together. Don't get me started.
With the year around humidity, Fall rains, Winter cold and mess, Spring storms and hot unbearable Summers, ..................... Kentucky is just not a good place to call home. I question my sanity quite often, and ask myself why, after all these years of this mess, am I still here?
Maybe it's just stupidity. Maybe it's because I have a wife that refuses to move anywhere else. Hmmmm! Things to think about.
Remember, all of you old Boy Scouts, "Be prepared"
Well, better go fill my my gasoline reserve cans this week, ... just in case.
