Cell phones, ...... Shmell phones

I made a modification in my newly established cell phone program today.

Recently I switched from AT&T cell phone service to Tracfone prepaid. The idea was that I would save money by using a prepaid service. Well, ..... it didn't work out as planned.

Seems by the time I added the minutes for the calls "I" made, .... the minutes for the calls I was receiving from others, plus my text messaging with one of the Grand daughters......coupled with the fact that in the "Prepaid" world there is no such thing as free nights and weekends, ..... My prepaid service was costing me as much as a contract plan with major carrier. And I had given up some of the PDA features on my phone and was carrying a PDA in addition to my Tracfone, to supplement phone numbers (in quantity), appointments, tasks, and misc. reference notes.

So today I opened a service account with Sprint. I've been using AT&T/Cingular for more years than I can remember, But I liked the phone selection at Sprint better and was able to get what I perceive to be a better service package than I could find at AT&T.

I was able to get a compact touch screen phone with all of the PDA functions of my Blackberry including sync files with my MS Outlook Suite on my desktop computer. I can sync my Contacts List, Calendar, Tasks and Notes between the PDA phone and the desktop.
Now I'm down to carrying one device, and the monthly bill is better that what I did have with AT&T before I dropped them and went to Tracfone prepaid service.

I think I'm happy about the new move.
